The Series of 5.
The Series of 5 is a part of the Classical Matwork Repertoire left by Joseph Pilates, and an excellent series of abdominal strengthening exercises. Just like The Hundred, it features in all of my Matwork Classes, in one level or another. As with all Pilates, it is not just about the abs - we also get the benefits of increased hip mobility and pelvic and spinal stability, whilst continuing to develop the stamina required to complete the full Cassical Repertoire. As always, the pay-out lies in the execution of the exercises, so focus on the stability of the pelvis, moving the legs and spine within a range complimentary to this stability.
